Notice and Agenda of the Meeting of the General Assembly
of the African Consortium for Law and Religion Studies

A meeting of the General Assembly of members of the African Consortium for Law and Religion
Studies (“ACLARS”) will be convened at or shortly after 16h30 on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, or as
soon thereafter as reasonably possible, in the Okavango suite at the Grand Palm Hotel,
Bonnington Farm Molepolole Road, Gaborone, Botswana. This meeting will be held at the
conclusion of the annual ACLARS Conference held this year in Gaborone on “Law, Religion, and
the Environment”. The Agenda of the meeting will be as follows:
- Welcome and opening of the meeting
- Report of the Board of Directors regarding Consortium activities and projects
- Report on publications
- Presentation and adoption of the financial report of the Consortium
- Determination of the annual enrolment fee (dues) to be paid by Consortium members
- Report and action on nomination of new members of the Consortium, based on
recommendations received by May 21 (prior to the General Assembly meeting) - Consideration of the venue of the upcoming Congresses of the Consortium and Call for
Papers for the 2020 Meeting - Announcement of uncontested election of Kofi Quashigah as the new president of ACLARS.
- Report and action regarding staggering of terms of ACLARS Board Members
- Appointment of Other Officers of the Consortium
- Other matters raised by members at the meeting
